Hi, I'm Sarah.
Challenges, transitions, and evolution are the markers of a full life. I've learned that change is part of being human, but that doesn't mean it's easy.
My story has plenty: romantic relationships beginning and ending, parenthood and a return to independence, caregiving relationships that evolved as needs changed, and an ill-fitting career that I ended to pursue my lifelong dream of being a therapist.
Some of those experiences brought joy and connection. Others brought grief, uncertainty, and the uncomfortable feeling of not knowing what comes next.
I also know firsthand how powerful it can be to have someone beside you while you're making sense of it all. The compassion, curiosity, and care of a good therapist can help us understand ourselves more clearly and find our footing when life feels unfamiliar.
Background
Rooted in Portland, shaped by many chapters.
I grew up in the Portland area and have a deep connection to this city and the beauty of Oregon. I have three now-adult children. As a young adult, I earned a degree in Religious Studies from Lewis & Clark College. After a long career in corporate environments, I left that world behind in 2022 to earn a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marquette University.
Grounded support for life’s messiness.
I love to show up with curiosity, honesty, and a deep respect for the stories people carry. I believe meaningful work happens when we can be ourselves in the room, and that sometimes a little humor can help us make our way through even the hardest parts of being human.
I am genuinely looking forward to getting to know you and working through the messy details of life together.
